It is with immense pride and respect that we spotlight Karla Danson, an exceptional leader who has played a pivotal role in the success of Make It Worthy’s initiatives, including the recent back-to-school supplies giveaway held on August 28th, 2024 in Everett, Washington. Serving on the Make It Worthy Board of Executives, Karla has been an unwavering advocate for our mission and a true champion for children, youth, and families in Snohomish and King Counties. Karla’s commitment to our community is unparalleled.

She has consistently gone above and beyond to ensure that every child has the tools they need to succeed in school. This year, thanks to her hard work and dedication, Make It Worthy was able to provide over 75 backpacks filled with pencils, notebooks, and other essential supplies to students in Snohomish County who need them the most. But Karla’s contributions don’t stop there. She is also a hands-on volunteer who spends her Thursday evenings tutoring our students at our center in Everett, Washington, providing not just academic support, but also mentorship and guidance to our students.

Her dedication to fostering a positive learning environment and her genuine care for each student has made a lasting impact on the lives of many young people in our program. The success of our school supplies giveaway is a direct result of Karla’s assistance. She participated from the beginning to end of the event making sure every child and family who walked into our facility left with a smiling face. Without her, this event would not have been the same. Her unwavering commitment to social justice and her relentless pursuit to build a better world for our children and families is truly inspirational.

According to Abdoulie Jarju, Founder and Executive Director of Make It Worthy, Karla is an invaluable asset to our community, especially when it comes to the welfare of our youth. Karla consistently exhibits an unwavering dedication and brings positive energy to our center every week. Despite working long days on Thursdays, she still. enjoys devoting her time to assist our students. Our community could certainly benefit from more individuals like Karla. She is truly an exceptional human being, deserving of gratitude from everyone in our community. If you happen to come across Karla around town, please take a moment to express your thanks.
