Make It Worthy proudly recognizes Muhammed Singhateh as our April Student of the Month. A 4th grader with a bright smile and an even brighter future, Muhammed has demonstrated tremendous academic growth and commitment since joining our program alongside his younger sister, Binta Singhateh, a 2nd-grade student.
When Muhammed and Binta first enrolled, both siblings were struggling to meet their grade-level benchmarks. Today, thanks to their dedication and the consistent support from our team, they are not only meeting expectations but exceeding them. Muhammed, in particular, has transitioned from underperforming to performing above average in his class, an achievement worth celebrating.
The Student of the Month celebration was held at our Everett center, where Muhammed was honored in front of fellow students, staff, and his proud mother. In heartfelt remarks, she expressed deep gratitude to the Make It Worthy team for their role in transforming her children's academic journey. “I’ve seen a huge improvement, not just in Muhammed, but also in Binta. They’re both doing great since joining this program,” she shared.
During the event, Founder and Executive Director Abdoulie Jarju addressed the students with an inspiring message: “This award is within reach for every student in our program. All you have to do is show up, work hard, and respect everyone, including your classmates. That’s the path to success.”
Mr. Jarju also encouraged parents, especially those with children who are struggling academically, to consider enrolling in Make It Worthy, particularly with the summer program just around the corner. “We’re here to help,” he said. “No child should be left behind.”
Co-founder Joelta Seneh echoed those sentiments, emphasizing the role of family engagement in a child’s academic success. “Our goal is to see every student thrive in school,” she said. “But we can’t do it alone. Parents, your involvement is crucial. We have the tools and capacity to support even more students, so let’s work together.”
Make It Worthy would also like to extend a special thank you to Gabe Reaume, City Manager of Saginaw, Texas, for his continued support. Gabe has been a strong believer in our mission and a generous financial supporter of our programs.
As we celebrate Muhammed’s success, we remain committed to uplifting every student who walks through our doors. Together, we’re building a stronger, more equitable future, one student at a time.
