Make It Worthy was privileged to welcome Mayor Cassie Franklin and Community Development Director Julie Willie from the City of Everett, WA. Their visit was a significant occasion for our students and staff, providing us with the opportunity to demonstrate the valuable work we do to assist students who require our support the most.
At our recent event, our students demonstrated exceptional skills and dedication. Demba Badjie, a first-grader, confidently read three paragraphs, showcasing his progress and enthusiasm.
Meanwhile, middle school students Isha Ceesay and Medina Baldeh tackled math problems with assurance. Halima Drammeh, a fifth-grader, impressed everyone by swiftly solving a division problem for Mayor Franklin. Witnessing the students' commitment and hard work, both Mayor Franklin and Director Willie expressed their admiration for Make It Worthy’s mission. They emphasized the pressing need for us to expand into a larger space to better serve more students requiring personalized academic support.
Our Executive Director, Abdoulie Jarju, stated that Mayor Franklin’s visit was invaluable in showcasing how we are empowering young people to access the resources and opportunities necessary for a brighter future. Abdoulie is determined to persist in inviting community leaders and businesses to visit Make It Worthy, as forging partnerships with these stakeholders is crucial for catalyzing positive change.
