Snohomish County Council member Jared Mead Inspires Students During Visit to Make It Worthy

Snohomish County Councilmember Jared Mead recently visited Make It Worthy, bringing inspiration, encouragement, and a renewed sense of community pride to our students and staff. His visit served as a powerful reminder of how meaningful community involvement can be, especially when it comes to education and youth development.
Councilmember Mead spent time speaking directly with the students, sharing stories from his journey in public service and highlighting the importance of hard work, perseverance, and compassion. Third-grade student Mariama Jarju impressed Council member Mead by solving multiplication and division problems with confidence. Second-grade student Mariam Jatta showcased her reading skills through an engaging literacy exercise. Several other students also demonstrated their learning abilities, showing their growth in math, reading, and problem-solving. Council member Mead expressed admiration for their focus and determination, praising Make It Worthy for building an environment where young learners can thrive both academically and personally.
During the visit, Executive Director Abdoulie Jarju spoke about the importance of education and the commitment needed to help students stay focused on their learning. He expressed heartfelt gratitude to Council member Mead for taking the time to come to the center and for supporting the students’ continued growth.
Co-founder Joelta Seneh also shared words of encouragement, reminding students to always value their education and to take pride in the progress they make through the program.
